This section lists the recommended minimum software requirements for running Files Together.

Client Software

No installation is required on the PC or laptop as the Web browser is usually preinstalled.

The following Web browsers are supported*:

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later
• Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.4 or later
• Opera 8.5 or later

*Note: Browsers are required to support WEB2.0 features like jscript and the XMLHTTP object.

The Java plugins require the java runtime verison 1.6 or later.  This can be downloaded from this locaiton http://www.java.com/en/download/

Server Software

Operating systems

       Windows

               Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or later (including any service packs)

       Linux

               All linux OS's should be supported. Linux testing has been on SUSE 10.0 (en.opensuse.org)

       

Web Servers

       Windows        

                   IIS (Internet Information Services) 5.0 (or later) with PHP 5.0.3 (or later) installed

               or

               Apache 1.3  (or later) with PHP 5.0.3 (or later) installed

       Linux
